Situated in the middle of 1,800 hectares of lush forest vegetation, Samboja Lodge is the perfect place for you to learn first-hand what it takes to rebuild a forest and protect its wildlife. Samboja Lodge is uniquely designed based on local architecture. Its interior and exterior walls are made from recycled materials and decorated with Kalimantan handicrafts produced by Dayak and other local communities.
During your stay, you will find yourself in the middle of our east Kalimantan orangutan reintroduction program, which cares for and rehabilitates displaced or orphaned orangutans who were rescued from areas of habitat loss. The centre is also home to one of the world’s largest sun bear sanctuaries.
