KIND-HEARTED IQO

Lately, Iqo has been spending more and more time high in the Forest School canopy. Together with her friend Segi, she now explores the treetops for hours, stepping beyond her old comfort zone and growing more adventurous every day. Yet through all these exciting changes, Iqo has never lost her kind-hearted nature and continues to share a special bond with her oldest friend, Rumba.

BACKGROUND STORY

Iqo, a baby female orangutan, was surrendered to the BOS Foundation on 3 November 2022 by the residents of Tumbang Kajamei village, Central Kalimantan. To give her a second chance, a local resident traveled four grueling hours by motorcycle to bring baby Iqo—who arrived exhausted and dehydrated—to the Nyaru Menteng Rehabilitation Centre. Following a three-month quarantine, she joined the Forest School in late December 2022. Now, Iqo is entering a fascinating stage of development; her confidence is growing alongside her emotional maturity, revealing a much more adventurous and exploratory side of herself!
