Lucky Jelapat has come a long way since being given a second chance. Now, he has reached one of the final stages of rehabilitation. On the pre-release island, he continues refining his natural behaviours, bringing him one step closer to returning to the wild where he belongs.
BACKGROUND STORY
Jelapat was once kept as an illegal pet by a local villager in Central Kalimantan, who claimed to have found him wandering alone and weak in a gold-mining area. At the time, devastating forest fires had razed the region, destroying the trees and blanketing the land in a thick haze, a tragedy in which his mother undoubtedly perished. Today, he has transformed into a clever, conflict-avoidant survivor. Showing healthy and active development, Jelapat's cautious approach is proving to be his own successful path toward true freedom.
