JOB DESCRIPTION

The International Collaborations Advisor is a cross-disciplinary role that involves coordinating and liaising with our international network of official BOS Partner Organisations, English and content editing our international communications material, assisting our Indonesian fundraising and communications staff with editing international donor care and donor retention material, as well as assisting them with a range of international requests from media personnel, potential volunteers, researchers, donors, supporters, and commenters. They report to the CEO, with the position being largely based in BOS Foundation’s headquarters office in Bogor, West Java, with intermittent field visits to Central and East Kalimantan as necessary.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising

Coordinating and collaborating with International Partners, including:

  • Organising and attending an Annual Partners Meeting:
    • Attending Bi-Annual Fundraising and Communications Meetings
    • Notifying Partners about  planning, including release planning, etc.
    • Handling media and journalistic requests from Partners as requested
    • Liaising in the development of project designs, proposals and budgets
  • Organising itineraries (in collaboration with the BOSF Administration Officer and BOSF Programs) for donors and other important visitors to BOSF working sites.
  • Assisting staff in the development of projects for direct international funding opportunities and reviewing proposals and reports before submission
  • Acting as the BOSF representative for coordinating with the international RSPO office, including the writing and submission of the annual communications of progress reports and development of other opportunities to promote sustainable palm oil at the international level

Communications

  • Finalising communications material through content editing and English editing, including:
    • Social media posts (text and video)
    • Website update stories
    • Press releases
    • Donor Care and Retention Material
    • Campaigns and appeals
  • Finalising reports through content editing and English editing, including:
    • Annual Report
    • Annual Highlights Report
    • Annual Post-Release Monitoring Reports
    • Annual Budget Report
    • Organisation Profile
    • Annual Partners Meeting Report
    • Miscellaneous donor and partner reports
  • Reviewing all documentary series (e.g. Orangutan Jungle School, etc.) episodes, and liaise with producers to finalise content, including:
    • Ensuring the BOS Foundation “brand” is being communicated clearly
    • Ensuring that all content follows our animal welfare SOP
    • Selecting suitable adoption candidates for the BOSF adoption program, by analysing how often certain orangutans appear in the episodes and in what context
    • Assist with the creation of communications material surrounding OJS, including quizzes, videos, Facebook posts, Instagram posts, etc.
  • Partaking in media interviews and appearances as required.
  • Assisting the Fundraising Team and Communications Team with replying to international donors, supporters, and commenters, on a range of issues.
  • Representing BOSF at certain events, presentations, workshops, and conferences (and making the accompanying presentations) as required.
  • Working with our Fundraising and Communications teams on creating integrated fundraising and communications strategies.

Other

  • Answering 15-25 emails per day on a range of BOSF issues.
  • Assisting with the writing of MoU on a range of partnerships including media and volunteer programs.
  • Constantly liaising with senior management, particularly the Head of Communications Coordinator, for information exchange and approval on a range of tasks.
  • Partaking in various internal and external coordination meetings.
  • Partaking in career development conferences and workshops as required.
