Rain was pouring down on Kehje Sewen Forest since dawn delaying our patrol teams scheduled to head for Lembu Transect that day.
The BOS Foundation runs two orangutan rehabilitation centers: in Samboja Lestari, East Kalimantan and in Nyaru Menteng, Central Kalimantan, with the main goal of releasing healthy orangutans back in the wild.
The Post Release Monitoring (PRM) team in Kehje Sewen Forest bears the main task of observing and recording the reintroduced orangutan behavior for a minimum of one year after release.
July 1st is #InternationalFruitDay! Orangutans are typically frugivorous, with over 100 types of fruit recorded in their diet from any one site.
