Job Description
Under the supervision of and in coordination with the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer will:
- Develop routine project work plans and budgets.
- Coordinate and ensure the implementation of project activities in accordance with established timelines, targets, and expected outcomes.
- Engage and communicate with project beneficiaries and stakeholders to ensure project activities are implemented in a participatory manner with active stakeholder involvement.
- Lead community organizing initiatives to promote biodiversity conservation values and community empowerment, which are the core objectives of the project.
- Prepare and submit regular project implementation and progress reports to the Project Coordinator.
- Contribute to the development of multi-stakeholder forums supporting the management of the Nusantara Biodiversity Corridor.
- Provide technical support to project staff in implementing thematic activities, including Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) processes, village spatial planning, community group business planning, and other project-related activities.
- Provide technical support to project staff in biodiversity identification and documentation within areas designated as part of the Nusantara Biodiversity Corridor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Communications, Forestry, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of professional experience in project or program management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop work plans, activity schedules, and project implementation reports.
- Strong coordination and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Experience in project administration, including documentation, record management, and reporting.
- Knowledge of project budgeting and budget preparation is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork as required by the project.
- Willingness to be based at Samboja Lestari, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
