BACKGROUND STORY
Jelapat was once kept as an illegal pet by a local villager in Central Kalimantan, who claimed to have found him wandering alone and weak in a gold-mining area. At the time, devastating forest fires had razed the region, destroying the trees and blanketing the land in a thick haze, a tragedy in which his mother undoubtedly perished. Today, he has transformed into a clever, conflict-avoidant survivor. Showing healthy and active development, Jelapat's cautious approach is proving to be his own successful path toward true freedom.
