Kopral’s physical limitations don't slow him down at all. He still confidently climbs, builds nests, and explores his enclosure with incredible energy. Currently, he is undergoing routine therapy while preparing for a special medical procedure to help him more comfortably.
BACKGROUND STORY
One of these unreleaseable orangutans is our inspiring Kopral. Kopral was kept as a pet in a cage until he escaped, climbing an electricity pole that electrocuted him and burned his arm. Unfortunately, his condition was so severe that both his arms had to be amputated when he arrived. Despite this, he was an outstanding student at forest school, climbing trees and building nests with his feet and mouth. Previously, Kopral had a best friend who always accompanied him, Shelton. Sadly, in 2022, Shelton passed away, leaving Kopral and all of us forever at the age of 14.
