THE REVERED HORNBILLS OF KALIMANTAN

It is not only the Kehje Sewen Forest in East Kalimantan that is home to exotic hornbills - our monitoring team on Juq Kehje Swen Island, located about 10 kilometres from the edge of the Kehje Sewen Forest, has also found hornbills nesting there.

Samboja Lodge was built in typical Dayak style and architecture, using natural building materials such as wood, bamboo, and natural fibres, among others. These materials can wear out over time, and therefore, need to be replaced every few years.
