INAUGURATION OF HIMBA PAMBELUM MONITORING CAMP
The Himba Pambelum Monitoring Camp was officially opened on 15 June, following the release of four orangutans into the Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park (TNBBBR), at the Hiran River site.

Lesan gave birth to her second-born in the forest about five months ago, and we are happy to report that both mother and baby are doing well!
KLHK, together with the BKSDA of Central Kalimantan and the BOS Foundation, will soon conduct the 41st orangutan release from the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre into the Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park(TNBBBR).
The Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation, in collaboration with BOS Germany (Deutschland) and BOS Switzerland (Schweiz), conducted team capacity-building activities on WingtraOne drone operation training from March to April.
In 2022, we took in several young, orphaned orangutans at our rehabilitation centres in Nyaru Menteng and Samboja Lestari. Rumba was less than 12 months old when she arrived at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Central Kalimantan.
